100 Push Ups: Week 3, Day 3

<.< It’s getting hella hard now. I keep taking longs periods of rest, attempting the sets, failing, and then adding more rest time until completion. I’m really, really, considering repeating a week to build up strength. If I do so, then the final day to attempt 100 push ups would fall onto the weekend of UC Davis’s move-in day. I dunno, I’ll just see how Week 4 treats me. >.>

In other news, I treat out my family to dinner tonight at Red Robins. Myself, Julie, Doug, Dianna, and Phong. Interestingly, I saw Dustin there with a bunch of his friends, all there to cele brate on of their birthdays. I felt like doing something nice for the guy, so even though I didn’t know his name, I gave him 10 bucks to pay for his burger, haha. I’m not sure why I felt like it, but I did. I guess you never know how karma is going to reciprocate, right?

100 Push Ups: Week 3, Day 2. Things are different

Oh man, things are getting hard. Between Sets 3 and 4 I gave myself 2 mins of rest, and between 4 and 5 I gave myself 3 mins. However, my first go at the last set got me 13 push ups before I stopped. My arms didn’t give out, I gave up mentally. Of course, I gave myself another 3 mins and 30 secs before going at it again, and I managed 25 then. I’ve just noticed my wrists are starting to hurt. It’s getting harder, and I think motivation-wise, I’m starting to plateau. Alex A missed a day, Alan coudln’t manage both push ups and TKD, and I’m not sure abouth Henry and Bryan’s status.

While I was at first psyched to have reached 33 consecutive, I now only picture myself as really far away from the elusive 100. I don’t know how else to describe it. I guess I’m just losing heart. It just feels like, I’m running really fast on a hampster wheel. At first it felt great to be running, but I’ve just discovered I’ve gotten nowhere. Besides the upper body strength, how am I different from who I was two weeks ago? I don’t feel like it progressed, which was the real point.

I remember driving past Silver Creek High School and seeing the girls tennis team practicing. I thought “Holy sh*t, I’m not a high school student anymore.” At first I was happy for the chance to spread my wings and get away from home, but now I question if I’m ready. Can I survive on my own? My roommate is a person by the name of Harry Gebhardt, and from his Facebook I can gleam that he’s a white football player from a San Francisco high school called Marin Catholic. Can I get along with another person so readily? What if my habits of sleep and etc conflict with his? What if it’s his habits that conflict with me? How good will I be at working out any possible problems that we’ll run into? Oh well. I’m not terrible at playing things by the ear.

Let’s just see how things work out, hahaha.

100 Push Ups: End of Week 2 Progress Test

I managed to do 33 consecutive push ups! YAY!!!

Thats more than twice my initial test of 16. Oh man, I can’t believe it. After having so much troule completing the last few sets of Week 2, I didn’t believe I could test into the third column of Week 3. Oh man, I feel awesome, hahaha.

Things are looking up!

Alan – Taekwondo practice and push ups don’t mix. Alan stops taekwondo push ups.
